FILE UNDER 20-something hook driven indie rock
NEW & SEALED

On its captivating self-titled debut LP, Philadelphia, PAs Weller explores how both positive and negative reminders of the past are often tied into everyday encounters. Regardless of how devastating and abrupt these moments are, they often serve as a source of continual motivation and existential validation. Drawing from difficult family situations, long commutes, and persistent pressure to conform to a 9-to-5 with benefits, the 20-something uncertainty illustrated in these ten intimate, indie rock hook-driven songs are what turned hundreds of iPhone voice memos into the poignant and personified Weller.

Weller began as the solo project of songwriter Harrison Nantz, who after graduating college, opted to exit comfort zones and move to an unfamiliar city. In Philly, Nantz befriended bassist Evan Clark Moorehead and drummer Jeremy Berkin who eventually joined the burgeoning project at the start of 2016. Citing creative influences such as Death Cab for Cutie, Counting Crows and Radiator Hospital, Weller released its debut EP, Career Fair, followed by tours throughout the Northeast and Midwest. The trios follow-up - a split with Pittsburghs Rue, transpired into regular touring cycles throughout 2017, including a recent U.S. tour with Kississippi.

PACKING VINYL THE CORRECT WAY—I package each record to avoid bent corners and seam splits. Here’s how:
* All records are packaged in new vinyl mailer boxes and assembled using a variation of bubble wrap, shrink and cardboard flats.
* ALL records are put inside a 2-3 mm clear sleeve. (I use the soft sleeves, not the ones that sound like you’re opening a bag of Doritos when you work with them.)
* If the record is used or open, the vinyl and its inner sleeve will always be shipped outside the jacket but inside the same clear sleeve.
* I reinforce the corners of each box mailer (no matter what size it is) by using cardboard “planks” secured to each corner around the edge to prevent damage when tossed around in the mail. This makes a difference.
