NINEVOLT is about the music. We might be generalized as a “indie rock vinyl record store” but we like to think we know a little more than an average shop. We can direct and duck and weave to get our clients to something they like while we tease their taste buds with similar bands of artists usually unknown to them. That’s the beauty in music.

I started with stocking the bands I admire and actually listen to. And when someone inquires about particular record, we usually know the answer without asking Siri or Alexa. Or flipping through old back issues of No Depression mags when Peter and Grant owned it.

We were also big time Replacements fans growing up in the ‘80s and ‘90s. You might even say The Mats are the nucleus of our store (w/o the shenanigans of course…). Where another store might stock Tim, we’ll have a great record to complement it: like Matthew Ryan or Dave Hause. You might pick up a Paul Westerberg solo record somewhere. At NINEVOLT, we’d make you listen to Brian Fallon or Lucero before we untied you!!!

But man shall not live on bread alone…

NINEVOLT plans are to expand its product line into live entertainment with a small but very cool musical venue for all types of singer-songwriters on a local, regional and at times the national circuit. And furthermore, move NINEVOLT even more horizontally by making our mark in the indie record label.

I say “we”; it’s actually only an “I”.
