Packing Vinyl the Right Way....

I absolutely hate getting records shipped to me from sellers and labels that come with crushed corners or bent edges. To prevent this, I package most all of my orders in a fresh soft poly bag placed inside a new box mailer with cardboard “planks” taped around the outside of each edge to reinforce the corners just in case the postal carrier decides to play frisbee golf with your record.

I also use cardboard flats and bubble wrap inside to protect it when you slice it open. This packing also keeps the record tight inside the box to prevent seam splits. (Another pet peeve of mine.) If you get any of that from me, tell me and I’ll get a new one out right away. Most of my new records are sealed, but please note that some of them have been opened to insure i got the correct variant of a rare pressing amd to take a picture of the exact product you are buying. As a record collector, I can also assure you that any record opened was handled meticulously and careful. If you have to have it sealed, please ask me before ordering it. Most of the time I keep the open copy for me, but at times I may sell my entire stock so the last one will be opened. Same principle.

Also upon request, I can unseal them without taking off the cellophane and ship the record outside of the jacket, although both pieces will remain intact inside the poly bag I provide. That can cut down on possible seam splits that sealed records sometimes come with.

And if the record you have purchased comes with special delicate, artistic inner sleeves, I’ll put those in the jacket and place your record(s) in a generic sleeve (and sometimes a hi-fi static free archival inner sleeve) to prevent the nice glossy inner sleeves from getting ripped during shipment. No charge.
